Safeway is the second largest supermarket chain in North America with 1335 stores located throughout the Western and Central United States. The company is located in Pleasanton, California and being managed by Mr. Robert L. Edwards as the CEO and President of the company.

Company History

hThe company started when Marlon Barton Skaggs in 1915, purchased a tiny grocery store from his father in American Falls, Idaho. It was operated as two separate businesses, namely Skaggs’ Cash Stores and Skaggs United Stores. The business grew quickly, as M.B. Skaggs wanted to give his customers value and to expand by keeping a narrow profit margin, the business became successful. By 1926 Mr. Skaggs opened 428 stores in 10 states and doubled the size of his business. On that year Charles E. Merrill, founder of Merrill Lynch a brokerage firm,  purchased the 322 store chain from W.R.H. Weldon. And Merrill offered Skaggs either $7 million outright or $1.5 million plus 30,000 shares in the merged firm in which Skaggs took the latter on July 1, 1926. M.B. Skaggs became the Chief Executive of the business and two years later Safeway listed on the New York Stock Exchange. There are now over 1,600 Safeway stores across the US and Canada.

Courtesy Clerk – The position provides superior customer service. The right candidate will greet and help customers out to their cars and collects empty carts for return to the store. Retail Service Specialist –  The right candidate should provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. The position requires extensive travel and possible overnight stays. Random store audits and downloading information into the corporate database for reporting purposes.

Transportation Supervisor – Successful candidate must be able to work a schedule to support the business. Knows how to lead, coach and supervise transportation personnel. Train and develop dispatchers and drivers. Provide superior service to customers. Maintain accurate and complete documentation or transportation operations and personnel.

GM Manager – The right candidate will be responsible in assigning daily duties to other Grocery department staff. He/ She will orders, stocks and displays Grocery merchandise according to company standards. Other duties like inventory control, proper product displays and cleaning.

Pharmacist – Assist in pharmacy operations to achieve business objectives. Maintain inventory levels to company goals. Work with Pharmacy Manager to coordinate schedule and monitoring of pharmacy personnel and performance. Focus on customer satisfaction and needs, ensuring customers are provided with world class customer service.

Delivery Driver – The position requires the candidate to establish and maintain excellent customer service relationships in a friendly and timely manner. Delivery of customers’ orders to homes and/or places of business. Assists in the loading and unloading of delivery vans.

Senior Integration Engineer – The candidate will design and engineer across multiple platform types. Develops integration solutions, performs debugging, troubleshooting and unit testing of integration solutions. Support, monitor and execute production application jobs and processes.
