The idea for a mid-priced brand of hotel was conceived by Kemmons Wilson after his trip to Washington D.C. There, he was disappointed by the quality of the roadside motels of the time. The first Holiday Inn motel was opened in Memphis at 4941 Summer Avenue. Wilson then partnered with Wallace E. Johnson and they built additional motels along the roads entering into Memphis. In the year 1957, the chain was franchised as The Holiday Inn of America. Other than that, just basic reading, writing and math skills are required. The candidate will be required to lift weights of up to 50 pounds or more and pushing/pulling of approximately 200 pounds. Line Cook – As a line cook, the candidate is required to prepare and cook orders for daily operations and provide assistance in performing kitchen duties. Food preparation experience and training is preferred for this job. It also requires the candidates to be able to lift weights of up to 50 pounds and involves standing up, bending, handling food objects, products and utensils.
