Company History –

T.G.I. Friday’s was founded by Alan Stillman in 1965. Alan Stillman was a perfume salesman who was a bachelor at the time. He lived in a neighbourhood with many stewardesses, secretaries and other single people in East side of Manhattan and he hoped that opening a bar would help him meet woman.

With $5000 of his own money and $5000 he borrowed from his mother, Stillman purchased a bar that he visited often. The bar’s name was The Good Tavern, which was renamed as T.G.I. Friday’s by Stillman after the expression “Thank God it’s Friday”.

The chain has expanded overseas to more than 60 countries and has more than 900 restaurants excluding the United States.

  • Learn the menu and make recommendations when necessary
  • To accurately ring up all orders in the POS system.
  • Minimum age requirement : 18 years old.

Dishwasher – This job requires the candidates to

  • Provide the Team Members with clean utensils, glassware and equipments.
  • Troubleshoot dishwasher machine malfunctions
  • Maintain daily cleanliness of dish machines.
  • Minimum age requirement : 16 years old.

Line Cook – This job requires the candidate to

  • Prepare a variety of foods according to recipe requirements.
  • Frequently lift and carry weight of 70 lbs
  • Read guest orders and perform duties that guarantee guest satisfaction.
  • Minimum age requirement : 16 years old.

Host/Hostess – This job requires the candidate to

  • Present positive first impression of T.G.I. Friday’s service and friendliness.
  • Greet the guests on their arrival and to bid them farewell as they leave.

Once you are inside the Jobs page, you will see several options on the topmost bar. For example, if you are looking for an hourly job, click on “Hourly Search” button there. Once you are in the “Hourly Search” page, it will show you a list of available positions which includes Back of the house (Dishwasher, line cook etc), Front of the House (Busser, Bartender etc), and Restaurant Management positions(General Manager) to be selected by the user. Once you have selected the job you want to apply for, click “Next”. You will then be asked to choose the country and the state where you would like to work. After selecting that, click “Next”.
