Joe’s Crab Shack is a beach-themed seafood, casual dining restaurants in America which is owned by Ignite Restaurant Group. The company was founded in Houston, Texas in 1991 and operates in all locations in the U.S. The restaurant is serving both seafood and American cuisine and they also have a gift shop that sells T-shirts which features Joe’s seafood choices. Joe’s Crab Shack has a total of 138 restaurants as of January 2014 located in 35 states.

Joe’s Crab Shack is becoming America’s favorite seafood restaurant that will welcome every customer with delicious seafood and good service.

Joe’s Crab Shack raises money for non=profits that focus on kid’s health and well-being as part of the company’s charity program. They support two organizations, namely Autism Speaks and No Kid Hungry.
Joe’s is under the management of Ignite Restaurant Group. As part of Ignite Restaurant Group they created Ignite Open Door Hotline, which is designed to provide their employees a confidential way to give their feedback, concerns, suggestions or report misconduct to the management. Ignite Restaurant Group is headquartered in Houston, Texas, which owns and operates three restaurant brands, namely Joe’s Crab Shack, Brick House Tavern + Tap and Romano’s Macaroni Grill. The group ensures that they provide their guests with a memorable dining experience.


Joe’s Crab Shack opened their first location in Houston, Texas in 1991. In 1994, Landry’s Restaurants, Inc. purchased the original Joe’s in Houston and converted it into Landry’s Restaurant. Their restaurant locations are located on a waterfront property with large patio seating capacity. It includes a family friendly environment with a playground and an arcade. In 2006, Joe’s Crab Shack was sold to J.H. Whitney & Company operates as JCS Holdings. LLC. The company JCS Holdings changed their name to Ignite Restaurant Group in 2009. They still operate more than 100 existing Joe’s and currently headquartered on Westpark Drive in Houston.

Careers at Joe’s Crab Shack

Restaurant Server/ Hosts/ Bartender
As a Server, you will serve food and drinks and accommodate every guests’ needs in a respectful and timely manner.
As a Host, you will greet and seats all guests in a friendly manner and assists in the overall guest flow of the restaurant.
As a Bartender, you will mix and serve drinks to guests in a friendly and timely manner.

Restaurant Manager
As the Restaurant Manager, you will work as a member of the restaurant management team. You will plan, coordinate and direct the operations of the restaurant under the standard set by the company.

Restaurant Cooks
You will prepare all the menu items according to recipes.

Restaurant General Manager
You will work as the leader of the restaurant management team. You will manage all the areas of the operations, assess staffing needs, acts as a support system in all areas of the restaurant.
