He got the idea for his restaurant after his experiences in selling food which he observed that doughnuts and coffee were the popular items for customers. In early 1955, Rosenberg started to sell franchises of Dunkin’ Donuts and the company grows until it led by the International Franchise Association. In 1963, Dunkin’ Donuts opened their 100th restaurant and expanded internationally where their first branch in Canada opened in 1965. In 1979, Dunkin Donuts had 1,000 restaurants opened. In the year 1990, 2000 restaurants were opened and in 1992, their 3,000th restaurant opened. In 1996, Dunkin’ Donuts started to serve breakfast sandwiches and bagels. The company’s headquarters was moved to Canton in 2004. In 2008, Dunkin’ Donuts opened their first green restaurant in Florida. It is a green restaurant because the restaurant is (LEED) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certified. In 2008, Nigel Travis as assigned as the CEO of Dunkin’ Brands and Dunkin’ Donuts President.
