Company History –
The history of Cedar Fair can be traced back to 1870 when a recreational area known as Cedar Point was opened. The park was owned by the Cedar Point Pleasure Company. In the year 1978, Cedar Fair bought Valleyfair, an amusement park in Michigan. That is also where the name Cedar Fair comes from, as it is derived from Valleyfair and Cedar Point. Cedar Fair was officially founded in the year 1983. Throughout the decades that followed, the company acquired a lot of other related businesses. Today, 11 amusement parks and 6 water parks are owned and operated by the company.

Jobs available at Cedar Fair –

Food Host/Cashier: For this position, you will be required to prepare various food products according to company recipes, handle guest sales, ring up sales on cash register, handle money as well as count and correct change. Minimum age to apply for this job is 16 years.

Lifeguard: As a lifeguard, your duty is to guard the swimmers and ensure safe operation of Castaway Bay aquatic areas. You will be participating in weekly in-services training sessions and maintain cleanliness of water park and pools. For this position, no prior experience as a lifeguard is required. You need to be a capable swimmer and must be in good physical condition. Lifeguard training and certification will be provided by Cedar Fair.

Housekeeping Attendant: As a housekeeping attendant, your duty is to clean the guest rooms. You will also clean the hallways and public spaces throughout the hotel. You must be physically fit to perform daily strenuous cleaning activities. For this position as well, minimum age requirement is 16 years.

Laundry Attendant: As a laundry attendant, your job is to sorting, hanging as well as folding of a variety of fabrics such as flat linens, towels and uniforms. Linens are processed through different machinery to the automatic folders. As you will be dealing with linens, Linen Processors will be required to pick up and deliver to the restaurants. The minimum age requirement for this position is 18 years.  Also, you must have a valid driver’s license and be able to to lift up to 75 lbs of weight.

Sales/Arcade Cashier: For this position, your responsibility is to run cash registers, make change as well as award prizes as they’re won. In sales locations, you will order merchandise, check the merchandise received from the warehouse daily and assist in taking inventories throughout the season. Minimum age requirement is 16 years.
