AMF Bowling Centers Inc. is a company that operates bowling centers and is the world’s largest in the business. Here we will look into the employment opportunities at AMF.
Company History –
AMF was initially founded as American Machine and Foundry in 1900. They moved into the bowling business only after the Second World War. The name, however, still stuck, although as an acronym. At that time, the company tried to venture into several businesses along with bowling, such as bicycles and even planned on selling power model airplanes, snow skis and garden equipments. However, most of its plans didn’t materialize and many business divisions were sold by Minstar Inc., a company that bought AMF in 1985. Since then, the focus has been solely on bowling. The company had filed for bankruptcy in 2001 and was bought by Code Hennessy and Simmons. Today, the company owns 262 centers.
